Based on the Wiltshire / Gloucestershire border Robin Compton has been a qualified Farrier for over 19 years. After serving a 4 year apprenticeship and and obtaining a Diploma with the Worshipful Company of Farriers his shoeing experience now totals in excess of 23 years.
He has  been involved with corrective/remedial work from the beginning where he worked with his training farrier at several veterinary practices.  This enabled him to gain a wealth of experience with hoof problems and sparked his interest in further remedial work. Since qualifying he has shod a broad range of horses in every discipline from Eventing ,Show Jumping, Polo, Dressage, Racing, Endurance and Pleasure Riding.  He also reguarly attends seminars, CPD courses and training courses for new shoeing techniques, products and developments.
Having worked with a number of vets around the country he has now settled in the Cotswolds and for the past 14 years been the practice Farrier at Willesley Equine Clinic Ltd, which has merged to become B & W Equine Clinic.
The majority of his referral work is carried out at his Forge or with veterinary assistance at the B & W Equine Clinic.  This can be for a one off shoeing or a course depending on the nature of lameness or hoof problem .
